UFI Filters for record-breaking diesel engine of WEICHAI

The oil and diesel filters for the record-breaking diesel engine of the Chinese giant WEICHAI are made in UFI Filters. The 11 and 13-liters H3 GBVI engine ensures a reduction in diesel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions up to 8%, offering a thermal efficiency of over 50%.
WEICHAI’s H3 GBVI engine has multiple applications for trucks, buses and commercial vehicles in the Chinese market, including JAC, Yutong and Kinglong buses, SHANN’QI, FAW QINGDAO and CNHTC.

The UFI Filters’ oil module gives an important contribution to the first-class performances of the new WEICHAI engine, thanks to its 5 integrated valves: non-return valve, relief valve, by-pass and service valve and finally, the innovative thermostatic valve engineered by UFI Filters technicians, which guarantees high control of engine oil pressure and temperature. This integrated valve system offers a higher level of thermal management, thus allowing fuel consumption and emissions to be optimally reduced, making it a truly record-breaking engine.

The UFI diesel filter, with aluminum body, allows weight reduction and at the same time the best filtration performance thanks to a double function in the same module. The pre-filter, which has a filtration efficiency of 90% at 10 μm, allows to block the coarser particles, while the second part of fine filtration takes place inside the filter which retains over 98% of particles up to 4 μm. The diesel module is also equipped with a fuel heater for cold start, a water presence sensor, a clogging and pressure sensor.

UFI Filters’ oil and diesel filters, with their set of valves and sensors, are the demonstration of the high level of engineering offered by UFI Group, which is confirmed by the partnership with the world’s largest diesel engine manufacturer.

UFI Filters Group is really proud to contribute with its technologies to the sustainable performances of this engine. Indeed experts remark that if we replace all the 7 million unit heavy duty diesel engines in the Chinese market with one engine with 50% thermal efficiency, 33.32 million tons of fuel would be saved annually, reducing emissions of carbon dioxide of 104.95 million tons. This would represent a significant contribution to solving problems related to energy shortages and global warming.
